Dear all,
Thank you for your kind attention on the Situation of Uyghur People of East Turkistan- the most persecuted people on Earth in 21st Century.
East Turkistan Australian Association and Uyghur Communities around Australia are initiating mass protests on 5th July 2018 in Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide to Condemn the Chinese Persecution Policies in East Turkistan. 5th July 2009 is also marking the 9th Anniversary of a major Massacre incident committed by the Chinese authorities in Urumqi in July 2009. The Urumqi Massacre was one of the darkest chapters in the history of the Uyghurs. The actions of the Chinese government on this day clearly indicated its refusal to listen to the legitimate grievances of the Uyghurs against worsening mistreatment, institutionalised discrimination and intensified assimilation. The Chinese Authorities concealed the truth about the exact number of Uyghurs who disappeared, were killed and were sentenced to long prison terms—the truth remains unknown to the world.[i]
East Turkistan Australian Association wishes to share the unprecedented tragedies that Uyghur people are facing today under the Chinese Brutal Rule since its occupation in 1949. We acknowledge some of the contents of this Email or attachments are extremely distressing and indigestible. However, the description what you hear is true and the situation is even worse today in East Turkistan as Chinese Government continue to invent means of torture, crime against humanity and other genocide methodologies to crackdown the Uyghur Muslims in their habitual country- East Turkistan.
East Turkistan is an occupied territory by China in 1949 and was renamed as Xinjiang (East Turkistan) Uyghur Autonomous Region. Main population – Uyghur Muslims over 25 Million. This region has always been a flashpoint of vast human rights violations by China for 7 decades.
Chinese Authorities carried out endless genocide policies causing irreversible human tragedies in East Turkistan by violating international laws and its domestic laws which made the Uyghur Muslims as one of the most severely persecuted people on earth in 21st Century. One of the most horrible persecution of Uyghur people known in 2017 & 2018 is the mass indoctrination process of Chinese authorities by detaining millions of Uyghur Muslims in prison style incarceration camps all around East Turkistan. Based on credible international media reports, the estimated number of Uyghur Muslims detained in the Mass detention camps stands over ONE MILLION and the number is reportedly growing day by day.
There have been reports of the Uyghurs being killed within these institutions which are shrouded and cremated in secrecy. These camps are facilitating the infliction of unspeakable suffering upon the Uyghurs, stripping them of their humanness and attempting to rob them of their identity through denunciation of their native culture, language, religion and values.
China’s ‘re-education camp’ system puts in violation of a number of international human rights norms, including those established in the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights. Based on Australia’s National Framework for Human Rights and National Action Plan, we request Australian Government to call on China to end the ‘re-education’ camp system and to release all Uyghurs detained in these facilities. Silence and inaction are not options with so many lives at stake.
It is our value and national interest to say “STOP” to such crime against humanity committed by China.
Break your silence before we are silenced. SUPPORT US AS EVERY VOICE COUNTS AND EVERY ACTION MATTERS !
